This course forms the Intermediate Level in the ICB Business Management and the ICB Entrepreneurship Program’s as well as the Foundation Level in the ICB Office Administration Programme. It looks at how the marketing and public relations functions work together to build a brand for a business. While marketing is interested in the market, consumers and demand, public relations is interested in relationships, reducing conflict and improving cooperation. Good public relations will create a healthy environment for marketing, which, in turn should create healthy profits.
Business administration is management of a business. It includes all aspects of overseeing and supervising business operations and related field which include Accounting, Finance and Marketing.
This course forms part of the Foundation Level in the ICB Office Administration Program. It looks at how the law affects us all. Even our most basic day-to-day decisions have legal implications. In business, basic knowledge of legalities that underlie the world of commerce is paramount. The aim of this course is to make South African law understandable and to answer common questions about the law in layman’s terms. It is important to note that laws are not static – they change over time, and new laws are promulgated from time to time. The topics covered in this course range from the basics of the South African legal system, to commercial laws involving contracts and litigation.

This course forms part of the Advanced level in the ICB Office Administration Programme. Good office managers need three attributes in particular. The role not only needs someone who has authority and is respected, but also the knack of persuasion for all those trifling little things that need doing but tend not to get done. In addition, a basic knowledge of accounts or budgets is an advantage as usually the role involves monitoring or authorizing expenditure and invoices and keeping basic office expenses as low as possible.
FNST is the final level financial reporting paper for AAT candidates and as such it is important that this paper is set at an appropriate level of difficulty. AAT candidates are training to be accountants and accountants have to prepare statements of financial position and comprehensive income statements as well as the statement of cash flows.
